Chapter One: A Beautiful Beginning at Blue Heron
Set against the lovely surroundings of Blue Heron in Medina, Ohio, Emily and Brandon’s wedding day began with anticipation and excitement as their closest friends and family gathered to celebrate.
With beautiful spaces, thoughtful wedding details, and plenty of opportunities for romantic portraits, Blue Heron provided a wonderful setting for their celebration. From the peaceful ceremony location to the elegant reception space, every part of the venue helped make their wedding day feel extra special.
As the morning unfolded, both wedding parties prepared for the big moment, sharing laughter, excitement, and those little behind-the-scenes memories that make wedding days so unique.
Chapter Two: Getting Ready with the Girls
Emily spent the morning in the bridal suite at Blue Heron, surrounded by her seven bridesmaids and the people who helped make her wedding morning so memorable.
Between hair and makeup, getting into her wedding dress, and adding the finishing touches to her bridal look, the excitement continued to build. These getting-ready moments are always some of our favorites to photograph because they capture the anticipation before everything officially begins.
From Emily having her hair styled and makeup perfected to putting on her veil and jewelry, each detail came together to create her beautiful bridal look. Special moments with her mom and matron of honor made the morning even more meaningful, reminding us that weddings are about so much more than just two people saying, “I do.”
Of course, no wedding morning would be complete without a few fun moments! Emily and her bridesmaids enjoyed a champagne toast, celebrated together, and made time for some adorable photographs while getting ready.
And one particularly fun detail? Sushi! Emily made sure to enjoy some sushi during the getting-ready festivities, adding a personal touch to the morning and giving us a few extra-special memories to capture.
From the hanging bridesmaid dresses to Emily’s beautiful bouquet, wedding jewelry, invitation details, and rings, every little piece helped tell the story of her wedding day.
Chapter Three: Getting Ready with the Guys
While Emily enjoyed her morning with the girls, Brandon got ready with his seven groomsmen at the bride’s dad’s house.
The guys spent the morning getting dressed, straightening ties, putting on jackets, and making sure every detail was just right before heading to Blue Heron for the festivities.
Brandon’s wedding-day details included his suit, shoes, tie, watch, cufflinks, and boutonniere, all of which helped complete his look for the big day.
The guys also made sure to have a little fun along the way! Between group photos, candid moments, and a celebratory shot with the groomsmen, there were plenty of opportunities to capture their excitement.
And just like the bridal party, Brandon enjoyed some sushi during the morning preparations. We love when couples incorporate little pieces of their personalities into their wedding days, and these moments made the getting-ready photos even more memorable!
From the guys helping each other get ready to the final adjustments before the ceremony, the morning was filled with friendship, laughter, and anticipation for what was ahead.
Chapter Four: Sweet First Looks & Special Family Moments
One of the most emotional parts of a wedding day is the opportunity to share a first look with the people who mean the most to you.
Before Emily and Brandon saw each other, Emily shared a special first-look moment with her dad, her brother, and Brandon’s dad. These moments offered a chance to pause, take everything in, and appreciate just how meaningful the day truly was.

After the first looks, it was time to bring everyone together for wedding party photos and portraits of the happy couple!
With seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen, Emily and Brandon had a wonderful group of friends standing beside them as they prepared to say their vows.
We captured Emily with her bridesmaids, Brandon with his groomsmen, and plenty of fun combinations with the entire wedding party. From individual portraits with each attendant to group photographs celebrating their friendships, these images will serve as a reminder of the people who stood beside them on such an important day.
Of course, we also made time for romantic portraits of Emily and Brandon.
Their wedding portraits captured the excitement of being engaged no longer and officially preparing to become husband and wife. With the beautiful Blue Heron grounds as their backdrop, we had plenty of opportunities to photograph them together and preserve the happiness of this special season in their lives.
One of the sweetest priorities was also making time for photographs with Emily’s grandmother before the ceremony. Family is such an important part of a wedding day, and these photographs become even more meaningful as the years go by.
We also made sure to capture the reception room reveal, giving Emily and Brandon a chance to see their beautifully prepared celebration space before the festivities began.
And with a rented golf cart available at Blue Heron, the couple had a fun way to enjoy the venue and make the most of their wedding-day experience!

Chapter Eight: Family, Friends & The People Who Matter Most
After the ceremony, it was time to gather everyone together for family portraits!
Weddings bring together people from different parts of a couple’s life, and these photographs are often among the most treasured images from the entire day.
Emily and Brandon made time for portraits with their parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family, and the many loved ones who came to celebrate with them.
From photographs with Emily’s parents and brother to Brandon’s family portraits with his parents and sister, each group represented an important part of their lives and the support system surrounding their marriage.

The evening began with the wedding party introductions, building excitement as each pair entered the room before the newlyweds made their grand entrance.
There is always something so fun about this part of the reception. Everyone is cheering, music is playing, and the couple gets to enjoy their first big moment together as a married pair in front of all their favorite people.
Following the introductions, Emily and Brandon shared their first dance as husband and wife.
Their formal dances also included a father-daughter dance and a mother-son dance, creating meaningful moments for the couple and their families.

Emily and Brandon’s reception included heartfelt words from Emily’s dad, Jeff, maid of honor Amanda, and best man Austin, followed by a prayer from Uncle Bill.

Once dinner and the thank-you speech wrapped up, it was time to keep the celebration going!
Emily and Brandon planned a private cake-cutting moment after the table dash, giving them a little time together to enjoy this classic wedding tradition.
The reception also featured a dessert table filled with sweet details that complemented the celebration.
Throughout the evening, we captured candid photographs of guests enjoying themselves, sharing conversations, laughing together, and celebrating the newlyweds.

One of the night’s special musical moments was when “Enter Sandman” came on. With the energy picking up and everyone ready to celebrate, it was the perfect opportunity to capture some fun reception photographs and video footage.

Chapter Thirteen: A Glow Stick Exit & One Last Dance
As the evening continued, Emily and Brandon planned a fun fake exit with glow sticks and their wedding party.
